ASUS' Congo-based Eee PC 1201T pops up on Amazon's German portal
Tired
of waiting for the Eee PC 1201T to ship? Impatient, aren't we? We've
been wondering about the status of this here netbook since it came to light last November, and now it looks like the Germans are about to get a real, live taste of AMD's Congo
platform. Boasting a 1.6GHz MV40 CPU, the same look and feel that we've
grown accustomed to on Eee PC netbooks, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive,
ATI HD3200 GPU and Windows 7 on the OS front, this is certainly one of
the more unique machines in the sea of Atomized "me-toos." The pain?
€399 ($560), and the first batch is expected to ship out tomorrow.
Here's hoping the price dips somewhat when it makes its Stateside
debut.

For good measure, though, we'll list the most popular cross-platform downloads at the end, which will look very familiar to those posted in our Most Popular Free Mac Downloads of 2009 and Most Popular Free Windows Downloads of 2009 posts. Apple’s Purchase of Lala Could Signal Cheaper, Streaming iTunes (Updated)
Apple has agreed to purchase the innovative, streaming music service LaLa, according to multiple reports (updated). LaLa fills a big hole in Apple’s digital music strategy and could bring streaming down music from the cloud into iTunes-ready devices everywhere. Integrating Lala’s ad-free music service — which stores music collections online and sells streaming songs at a deep discount — would mark the first major step forward for iTunes since its music download store launched in 2003. Lala recently announced a deal to play free songs on Google, but Apple is reportedly particularly interested in the engineers who built Lala’s “payment and fulfillment system[, which] could save Apple millions of dollars a year,” according to a CNET source. Lala sells music fans pre-paid chunks of music credits, rather than individual songs — an approach could help iTunes cut down on its credit card transaction costs and sell songs as streams and as downloads. ...... full story Samurai of Kuroda granted a cybernetic upgrade

The worm sends users from a genuine banking website to a fake one farming for personal details.- 10 of the strangest tech support queries Virus experts F-Secure says that this worm has been adapted from the Rick Astley worm unleashed on the public two weeks ago.
